LENZ, stage model

Theater Montagnes Russes is an international theatre company based in Vienna, founded by the dramaturg Sibylle Dudek, the stage designer Aurel Lenfert and the director Cornelia and is now run by Cornelia Rainer. The company is represented in established theatres as well as for the independent scene, both in Austria and internationally.

"Montagnes Russes" is the French term for roller coasters. Literally translated, it means "Russian mountains". Legend has it that a prototype of a roller coaster was invented in the Russian mountains, where slopes were iced in order to enable more adventurous rides.

The production "LENZ" took place on a wooden rollercoaster and gave, as one of their first performances, its name to the company.
